Chelmsford city racecourse: Chelmsford City racecourse in April 2008 great Lee’s became the first. ut the excitement proves short-lived financial problems medical and his last race in January 2009 new racecourse in Britain for nearly a hundred years. the great Leeds racecourse in Essex had opened in a blaze of publicity and closed. soon after that was eight years ago it reopened a couple of years ago as the chelmsford city racecourse. what a difference two years can make chelmsford city racecourse

Essex police museum: The Essex Police Museum was started in 1992 but I retired sergeant. there was lots of objects hanging around and they needed a home and a museum seemed an ideal place the museum has since developed. when they are open to the public regularly once a week and since then we’ve developed a team of volunteers to help with the running of the museum. when most people have dealings with the place it’s normally a negative experience they might be a victim of crime or they might be the criminal themselves. so this gives people the opportunity to come and learn about the place in a positive way ethics Constabulary was formed in 1840. so we have a lot of history I think it’s really important that we’re able to preserve the history and then display it for our visitors to see people have got to know about us. they’ve actually you know but they now donate objects to the collection because we very rarely purchase items we now have about 30,000 items of photographs objects and paper documents.

RHS Garden Hyde Hall: Hyde Hall Gardens is one of the Royal Horticultural Society gardens and is situated south of chelmsford in Essex. It wasn’t the best of days and a little more sunshine would have brought out the best in these gardens. In 1955 when Dr. and Mrs. Robinson came to Hyde Hall there were only six trees on the top of a windswept hill and no garden. Helen Robinson had an interest in gardening and cleared areas around the house planting anything available. In this way she created herbaceous borders and a vegetable garden close to the house and established the framework of the garden with some 60 young trees bought at an auction sale in Wickford Market. Over the years a garden started to emerge and Hyde Hall Gardens Trust was set up in 1976 and then in 1993 the garden became the responsibility of the Royal Horticultural Society having been bequeathed by the Trust to ensure its future survival.
Chelmsford Museum: welcome to chums for the museum set in five acres of the award-winning Oakland’s Park. its own parking facilities tennis courts and a play area and a cannon from the Crimean War. the museum is housed in the grade 2 listed building of Oakland’s house which was built in 1865 in the Italianate style based on osborne house Queen Victoria’s family home on the Isle of Wight. the modern extension was added in 2010 and has doubled the size of the museum.
